Q. Working with both development teams and subject matter experts is key. How do you strike a balance between ensuring accurate course content and infusing innovative gamification elements, keeping the team aligned and the project on track?

There are a lot of people involved in projects like these and everyone plays a vital role in the project’s success.  At the outset there are some important conversations that need to take place with product owners which define their project goals and these helps set parameters around things like realism and gamification.  It is vital to have the trust of the client and a good working relationship with the product owner in order to consistently carry out the client’s vision throughout the development process.

Q. Creating realistic workplace training simulators is an exciting aspect of your role. Can you give us insights into how you ensure the digital twins and simulated environments meet the evolving demands of industries and clients, setting Dapphaus apart in the edtech landscape?

Our development team has several incredible artistic minds that are capable of creating that realism on a visual level. They never cease to amaze me with the level of detail in their modeling and environments. We only get that detail from thorough research, onsite visits when possible, and access to subject matter experts (SME’s). I have had the honor of working with technicians, mechanics, engineers, trainers, educators, and consultants from a wide range of industries. The input we receive from them is the key to making sure we include those tiny details that clients appreciate as they have real world experience in those environments.

Q. As a leader in learning management, what trends and technologies in the educational landscape excite you the most, and how are you incorporating these trends to deliver exceptional learning experiences for your clients?

Mobile learning, micro learning, and learning on demand have been concepts we have long championed as solutions for organizations with training demands and logistical challenges. The growing adoption of gamification in workplace training is something I get really excited about. I have seen positive results with regards to engagement among emerging workforces who value upskilling and gaming experience as well as experienced workers who welcome a new approach to traditional training sessions.

Q. Understanding client goals is paramount. Could you share a memorable experience where you successfully aligned learning material digitization and gamification with a client’s unique objectives, resulting in a truly tailored and effective learning solution?

A client’s change in executive direction well into the development cycle on a workplace simulator project created some unique challenges. I was fortunate to be working with an SME that had a wealth of knowledge from an accomplished career in that industry in conjunction with our incredibly talented development team, we were able to find creative ways to augment a simulation experience with additional real world knowledge to assist in user training.  A really unique product, that is used in trainings now,  was delivered on time in large part to the architects and developers who were able to be flexible and change course in the middle of a very complex process.

Q. Gavin, the integration of innovative training techniques is a core aspect of your role. Could you elaborate on some notable instances where the application of these techniques brought about tangible, positive results in terms of learner engagement, knowledge retention, or overall learning outcomes?

We’ve seen our products have incredible impact on our client’s training programs. One manufacturer was able to raise standards for frequency of training that exceeded the prescribed OSHA standard for that particular process. One group leveraged our ability to simulate onsite during the pandemic to deal with some considerable logistical issues. On a personal note, I’ve had the privilege to help some incredibly knowledgeable people give back their industry through sharing insights gained from long careers. These products will continue spreading that knowledge, well after they retire.
